Earthly existence is merely a learning-intense pathway into saving heavenly life. We can choose whether to accept His daily lessons for us or not. If not, this pathway would end with a closed door. If we accept His call, everything that happens becomes an opportunity to choose: will we draw closer to Jesus or pull away from Him.

Just as we must eat and drink to sustain earthly life, we must eat the precious bread of His of His Word and drink from His fountain of life to sustain spiritual life in Him. If we don' hunger for His bread, we have reason to wonder if we actually have walked through the door into His eternity. "He who does my will..."
