      The Truth

"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life;

no one comes to the Father but through Me."  John 14:6

"What is Truth?"

Face to face with Truth Himself, Pontius Pilate asked this timeless question, then walked away. Soon afterwards he condemned Truth to death. But He who is Truth is also Life. He can never die.

Years ago, as child growing up in post--war Norway, I longed to find Truth. Sometimes He seemed so wonderfully near. But through the decades of schools and travel, I didn't find what I so eagerly sought. I almost gave up.

But He wouldn't let me go. He allowed me to see the emptiness of life apart from Him, then He opened my eyes. And when I finally "saw" my beloved King, I found Truth, Life, and all the treasures of His indescribable kingdom.

For God is Truth!  This amazing Truth includes all that He is, all He created, and all He has accomplished throughout history. It incorporates His written Word, His eternal plans, and His wonderful promises!  This unchanging Truth is written in the Bible, revealed by the Spirit, and realized through Jesus Christ, who is my Life, Lord, and Love.

Through Christ, Truth is at work in me, renewing my mind, transforming my soul, conforming me to my Lord, and preparing me for an eternity with Him. It has freed from the darkness and tentacles of the world and equipped me to walk with Him and share in His work.

Truth clarifies, purifies, and cuts through all the distortions, deceptions and compromises of the world system. By Truth, I see things as they really are.

Truth is a firm foundation, a solid position, an immovable Rock, an anchor for my soul. It is my absolute authority for all eternity!

Truth is the first piece of God’s armor, the part that holds everything else together. I can go no further until I have "girded my loins" with His vital Truth about Himself: His wonder-filled ways, His amazing love, His unchanging justice, and His saving grace. The truth that He lives in me -- that He will never forsake me or leave me to my own feeble resources -- is my peace and protection in every conceivable circumstance.

When I "put on" Truth, I affirm the reassuring fact that He is my total sufficiency. No matter how weak I may feel, He is and has everything I need to live, walk and work triumphantly each moment. He is my High Tower where I find safety. He is my Lord, showing me His way. He is my Shepherd, watching and guiding me. He is my Strength, exchanging His life for my weakness, and enabling me to go wherever He sends me. He is my Friend, providing fellowship and encouragement day after day.

He is the great I AM -- the sovereign, almighty Ruler of the universe.  When I start the day looking at Him and living in HIS NAME,  He leads me in His wonderful triumph. (2 Corinthians 2:14)  For "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

"God of Truth, I come to you. Teach me, fill me, be Life in me. Continue to “guide me into all truth,” so that I might live in and through your truth constantly. Thank You. Thank You, my Lord and my King -- my TRUTH.
